Thoughts on “Raising Disciples” from a Woman I Trust

October 11, 2015 by Courtney 3 Comments

Happy Saturday, sweet friends.  Today, I was stuck in a corn maze with my husband, sister-in-law, and five small children under the age of seven for over two hours.  We never {I repeat never} found the exit.   That is right, sweet readers.  We exited out the entrance and said, “Good enough!  That’s a wrap!”  I.  Am.  Exhausted.

I am too tired to type words that will inspire you and I to live like Jesus today.  I simply cannot go on.  I need sleep.  Don’t judge me.

For tonight, I am entrusting my little space of the Internet to a woman I trust and admire deeply.  You know Jen Hatmaker, right?  No, she is not guest posting.  {I wish!} That isn’t the case unfortunately.  Instead, I’ve simply found this perfect-for-the-theme YouTube video from Jen by searching “missional living” and such key phrases in Youtube.  I know.  I’m brilliant.  Hold your applause.

Quite frankly, I feel like my last two posts on the topic of raising mission-minded children have been borderline bossy-pants.  So…thankfully, Jen Hatmaker found more eloquent words.

Here’s Jen Hatmaker on the subject of Raising Disciples.  {Click on Raising Disciples, friend.} Happy viewing!

Goodnight, precious readers.  My pillow is calling me.

From my sleepy heart {and Jen’s timely words} to yours,             ~Courtney

Hi, Courtney! I am always amazed when God speaks to me through a message. I have been worried about my children and where they are going. The truth is that I know I need to give them over to God because as a human, I don’t always know what is best. The video really echoed what I have been worrying about, and I took heart from it. Thank you!

That is wonderful to know, Carletta. I struggle with surrender VS control (ie: my own plans) as well. I am learning every day to hand my children to God.
